This problem is a headache for knitting mills, traditionally can only rely on the workers personal skills and strong responsibility to control it. But the knitting industry demand automatically monitoring of the needles and stop the machine when the needles broken or damaged. Now we have two types of device can detect damaged needles, mainly divided into direct method or non-direct method
This device uses optical principle, emits infrared or other optical signals, reflects through needle hooks, and receives reflected signals. Every round the circular knitting machine runs, the equipment records the number of signals and compares them with the correct number. When the needle is damaged, the signal cannot be reflected, resulting in a reduction in the number of signals, the system will verify the needle is damaged, and stop in time to avoid lasting defects on fabrics. This device scans the fabric surface through a high-definition camera, and compares the image with the standard image. When it does not conform to the standard, the defective fabric will be judged and the machine automatically stoped
